Not a Bot brings joy to learning

Hands-on maths and science games for kids aged 5–14. Schools play them in our Game Labs, and families can play our board and card games at home.

How a game box teaches

  • The rules are the lesson.

You can’t win Numbo Jumbo without doing the sums, or What A Cycle! without knowing what comes after evaporation. The concept is the move, so kids practise it every turn.

  • Kids teach each other.

Players check each other’s moves and talk through the answers. Explaining a move out loud is how an idea becomes their own.

  • One more round is more practice.

Kids ask to play again, and every round is another go at the same idea — no worksheet needed.

  • Built by teachers, matched to school.

Each game maps to chapters kids study in class (NEP 2020 aligned), for grades 1–8.

Bring a Game Lab to your school

A Game Lab is a learning space in your school. Students explore what they learnt in class through hands-on games — on tablets, with movement and around a table — and teachers see how each student is doing.

16,000 students in our Game Lab schools, and 68,000 play sessions so far.

We are on a mission to bring joy to learning!
We want children to learn by discovery. So we make games!
Learning is best guided by educators. So we partner with them in making the games. Photos of teachers and children playing our games in class.
Moving the body prepares the mind for learning. So we use immersive technology to get kids moving.
Fractional Baking, a game on a tablet: an order for 4/8 of a chocolate cake, made from 1/8 slices.
Shapes, a game on a tablet: make a rectangle with an area of 18 (area = base × height).
Animals, a game on a tablet: a line drawing called “Deer and duck”, with a “Press to speak” button.
“Pedagogy must evolve to make education more experiential, holistic, integrated, inquiry-driven, discovery-oriented, learner-centered, discussion-based, flexible, and of course, enjoyable.” — National Education Policy of India 2020
Learning is a social sport between teachers & students, so our games enable inquiry, discussions, and collaboration. A cheering class with their teacher.
Class average progress chart: scores in Numbers, Shapes and Time rise across four sessions.
Student attention needs matrix: each student is on track, needs practise or requires immediate attention in Numbers, Shapes, Time and Animals, with insights such as “Ishaan is showing exceptional talent in Numbers.”
We are IITians, NID graduates, Math professors, school educators, and long-time technologists working together to fulfill this mission by way of Not a Bot Game Lab. Photos of the team.
